Update
I had just helped Miss B improve from a C to a B- in August, then she got her first A in September. Now she has just smashed another A in her recent assignment and has received an A overall for Semester 2 💪💪💪 Both B and her Mum are stoked!!! She has moved into the top 35% of students in her grade. However, if she stayed at a C, she would be in the bottom 28%. So therefore in the past 3 terms, she has moved ahead of at least 37% of the students in her grade. And this is a conservative calculation. If she was midway in those grades (ie the average), she would of moved ahead of 66% of the students in her grade. Therefore basically jumping above two thirds of the students in her grade in less than a year. Amazing! Great effort Miss B, I’m looking forward to seeing what you can do in year 9.

Miss B started tutoring with me at the beginning of the year. She has always been an engaged student, but just ‘wasn’t quite getting it’. This is because she was at a C level, which means she was getting most of the simple questions correct, but didn’t have the confidence to attempt the complex questions with any certainty. I’ve been able to build up her math confidence that she can now feel as though she understands the complex questions and gets most of them correct. Well done B!
